A study on the Trend in Achievement Gap and Measures Against It



Based on statistical results of 2003~2008 National Assessment of Educational Achievement (NAEA), which has high public confidence between student achievement scores as the most important index of educational attainment, this study aims to explore the differences in achievement scores and levels by students' and schools' background variables as well as changes of such differences over time, examines the effect of these variables on gaps and change of achievement scores and levels, and, finally, suggest various measures to close the gap.
