KEDI-UNESCO Bangkok Joint Seminar was held in Gyeongju, Korea from Nov. 19 to Nov. 24, 2001 with six UNESCO experts and eleven scholars from the following Asia-Pacific countries: China, Philippines, Thailand, and Korea.
The topic of the Seminar was Development of Higher Education in the Asia-Pacific Region: Student Loan Schemes. The participants shared each country's case studies on student loan schemes and extensively discussed new approaches to improve the conditions of higher education in many Asia-Pacific countries.
This Seminar was co-hosted by UNESCO Bangkok office, which is in charge of applying the Funds in Trust donated by the Korean Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development to improve the educational practices of Asia-Pacific countries.
