The International Forum of Democratic Citizenship Education in the Asia-Pacific Region was organized by KEDI and was held on October 16 and 17, 2001 in Seoul. The Forum''s topic was Redefining the Democratic Citizenship Education in the Globalized Society. Prominent scholars and experts in this academic area were invited to give presentations including Dr. Yong Lin Moon from Seoul National University in Korea, Dr. Murray Print from University of Sydney in Australia, and Dr. John J. Cogan from University of Minnesota in the USA.
The Forum was sponsored by the Korean Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, United States Embassy Public Affairs Section, Australian Embassy''s Education Section, and the Hong Kong Institute of Education. The Forum contributed to the search for a new paradigm of democratic citizenship education.
