A Study on Education Indicator Development and Statistical Capacity Building Focused on Asian Countries (III)

The research has a main purpose to strengthen the statistics capacity of three Asian countries (Mongolia, Vietnam and Sri Lanka). It aims to establish and promote consulting projects focusing on strengthening human resources, organizational capabilities, and institutional capabilities of three Asian countries. In order to develop their capabilities, it is important for Asian three-nation representatives to participate actively, not participate in passive positions. Together, we make efforts to plan, implement, evaluate, and find out improving way. In other words, the project aims to create a capacity-enhancing consulting model and a capacity-based international cooperation model.

The research in 2018 consists of two main types. One is to establish an action plan to promote education statistics capacity strengthen consulting for developing countries. With detailed diagnostics on education statistics from three Asian countries, it develops detailed implementation plans that will reflect their demand fully and help to strengthen capacity practically. The other is to push ahead with the consulting projects in earnest based on this. It includes a series of educational and support activities (local travel, invitation workshops, international seminar etc.) aimed at enhancing education statistics capacity in developing countries.
