- Prof. Takayasu Nakamura’s lecture on Trend of Parents’ Educational Fever in Contemporary Japan
On July 2, 2003, Prof. Takayasu Nakamura, Associate Professor of the Gunma National University, Japan, gave a lecture entitled Trend of Parents’ Educational Fever in Contemporary Japan. He suggested that first, an education fever in the South Korea is higher than in Japan. Second, in Japan, parents’ needs for higher educational credentials to their children are less seen in the younger generation. Third, an educational fever is not only heightened by "effects of widely opened opportunity" but also by "effects of class reproduction" or "effects of social closure".
