National Survey of Student Engagement in Korean Universities



The objectives of this research are as follows. First, the research aims to develop a survey that is appropriate for student engagement such as class participation, learning experiences, level of education satisfaction in the field of higher education that was less explored in the past. Second, it intends to understand Korean university students' current situation regarding their engagement in learning. Third, based on the research outcomes, it intends to improve the teaching and learning process at a university level and further suggests that the government should provide supporting policies that can help improve the quality of higher education.

The contents of this research consist of conceptual components of university students' learning experiences, developing and investing research tools for understanding learning experiences of university students, analysing state of the learning (e.g. questionnaires, study journal), developing strategies for research tools for the second phase of research and policy implications.
