Research for a strategy to improve education - information systems for intergenerational integration (Ⅱ):
Future prospects and development of diagnostic tools for the intergenerational integration
The important issues of social conflict in the modern history of Korea were mainly the conflict between class and hierarchy, the conflict between regions, the conflict of political inclinations and ideologies. Since the advent of the knowledge information society, the rapid progression of aging, the problem of youth unemployment and baby boomers emerged as a national issue, particularly after 1990s, the problem of generational conflict has come to the fore. In addition, the current problems of generational conflicts has been changed to the conflict of interest derived from rare social resource, limited distribution and management of opportunities, while the past problems of generational conflicts had focused on differences in values, recognitions and attitudes. Despite the magnitude of such generational conflict issues, lack of social consensus and system to deal with the rapidly changing phenomenon of aging, our society is on the lower level of awareness of the importance of empathy and understanding between generations without sufficient measures and scheme which can mitigate the generational conflicts.
