Study of shaping the school culture for school violence prevention:

Focusing on analysis of current status and level of school culture for school violence prevention in Korea



This study first established 3 key factors of school culture for school violence prevention, including norms for nonviolence, interpersonal climate among school members and attention & support to school violence prevention, and then conceptualized the school culture for school violence prevention, and finally developed a school culture indicator for school violence prevention which makes it possible to measure the level and the type of school culture for school violence prevention. The school violence indicator has been developed in the procedure of 1) establishment of a concept model by examining theoretical basis, 2) data collection, 3) exploratory analysis, 4) investigation on a weighting method, and 5) standardization and calculation of a composite indicator.
