Dr. Bangran Ryu has been appointed as the 19th President of the Korean Educational Development Institute (KEDI) in May 2021.
Besides being the Editor-in-Chief of the KEDI Journal of Educational Policy (KJEP) and a Chief Commissioner of the Korean Presidential Council on Education, she currently serves on the Governing Board of the OECD Centre for Educational Research and Innovation (CERI) and the Subcommittee of Education of the Korean National Commission for UNESCO.
Since joining KEDI in 1996 as a research fellow, she led and contributed to a number of studies, which resulted in notable publications such as “A Study on Analysis of Polarization in the Field of Education (I)” (2020), “Education in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution: The Future of School” (2018), and “Exploring the Direction of Education Policy in the Age of Demographic Cliff” (2018).
Dr. Ryu holds a Ph.D. degree in Sociology of Education from Seoul National University.
