Latin America and the Caribbean

Republic of Korea (hereinafter Korea) has been implementing various educational development cooperation projects and programmes since it joined OECD DAC(Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Assistance Committee) in January, 2010. Also, Korea has been taken an active role in the world by holding the G20 Summit in November, 2010; the OECD DAC High-level Meeting in Seoul in 2011; and the Busan High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in Busan. As Korea’s reputation increases, it has been pointed out that importance of the effective model of educational development cooperation based upon the needs of the recipient countries and regions. Particularly, Latin America and the Caribbean region has been received insufficient attention from the traditional donor countries since income level of the region is relatively higher than other developing countries or the least developed countries.
