Using the first to the seventh set of data collected by the 2013 Korean Education Longitudinal Study, the 2013 cohort of students were studied from fifth grade in elementary school to second grade in high school on the topic of educational experience and growth. Conducted basic and in-depth analyses on how underachievement in elementary years impacts students’ academic achievement, career maturity, and satisfaction with school life through subsequent years. Based on analysis of longitudinal changes in underachievement, classified potentially at-risk groups and aggravating causes. Provided policy proposals on basic academic achievement.
