This researhc was the first-year study of a five-year research to develop a basis to determine the trend and degree of education gap and accumulate related data. Based on the analysis of issues related to education gap, the concept was defined as “a phenomenon in which class mobility is reduced because educational opportunities, processes, and outcomes are driven to students of upper and lower class background (determined by household income, parents’ educational background, and cultural background), while the middle class decreases, intergroup heterogeneity increases, and intra-group homogeneity intensifies.
