Development Strategy for National statistical system for education

This study investigates the national statistical system for education. In preparation of knowledge-based and globalized society, Korean government tries to enhance the national competitive power. To achieve this goal the most important thing is to cultivate and improve the human talent and capacity in people. Korean government has settled education policy as one of the major national policies. To establish a effective educational policies are necessary to evaluate the current status, to diagnose the problems, and to seek the alternatives. For this purpose the educational statistics have significant meaning.

This study analyzed challenges and problems of the national statistics system for education. In addition, the study intended to explore the policy tasks for the development of the national statistics system for education.
