A Study on University Curricula Improvement for Reinforcing Industry-University Cooperation

Recent policies have promoted investments into industry-university cooperation, as a means of generating initiatives to build a creative economy. Developing a new curriculum according to the needs of industry is one of the key components of industry-university cooperation. However, despite the continued efforts to renovate curricula, a frequent criticism is that what is taught in institutions of higher learning does not meet the needs of industry or what is actually required to work effectively. In response to the mounting call to close the gap between industrial demands and educational output, this study proposes strategies to renew a curriculum in order to better reflect the needs of industry, as well as provides policy implications.
